Recipe: Banana Liquado

21 Jul

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Mr. R and I started our morning with this super easy, delicious banana milkshake. The recipe is courtesy of my dad; he’s been making this Mexican milkshake for us since before I can remember, which makes it so much better every time I make them!

The “recipe” is actually more of an ingredients list with “add to taste” instructions, but I’ll do my best to share as much as possible!

– 2 ripe bananas, cut into chunks

– 1 tray of ice cubes (about 16)

– 1.5 cups of milk

– 2 tbsps. brown sugar

– 1 tsp. cinnamon

– In a blender, mix ice cubes, bananas, brown sugar and milk

– Once liquified, add cinnamon on top for garnish

– Makes 2 milkshakes!

Yes we grew up on these just love them! Glad your dad continued the tradition with you and you will with your kiddos! Love you and miss you! Another idea is that we would put the mixture in ice trays and when they were beginning to set we would place a toothpick in the center of each ice cube so that they would hold and pop them out when frozen. We would eat them like mini ice cream pops. These are yummy too! This was before ice pop molds were around, of course. ENJOY!
